Is Jessica Simpson fit or fat ?

Jessica Simpson has come under fire lately for sporting a fuller figure than she had in her pop star days. She's turned to country music and discovered her curves and some reeeally good fried chicken :) Ok jibes aside I think she looks gorgeous. She reminds me of screen sirens like Sophia Loren and Rita Hayworth.

The body fascists out there have got on their bitch ledge and have been making less than flattering comments about her. But let's face it - it's ridiculous to expect everyone to conform to a restrictive and often unhealthy idea of beauty. Now I don't mean to get all kum ba yah and heal the world about it but beauty comes in all shapes and sizes despite what the size 0 fanatics may think.

So yes tall lithe Gemma Ward looks great but so does a fuller figured Jessica Simpson and America's top model cycle 10 winner Whitney is just stunning.

When I first saw this pic I hoped my eyes were having moment - I literally didn't want to see what was staring back at me .. Mischa Barton looking like an overgrown Hermione from Harry Potter the quarter life crisis years. If she was just some talentless teen starlet then maybe just maybe I could let it go but this is the woman who as Marissa in The O.C coerced us into falling in love with preppy chic and made quilted Chanel bags a staple for fashionistas the world over. Recessionistas love Shoppers

Functional, cute and cheap... the shopper is the antidote to cash guzzling 'it' bags known for their fickle " in today passe tomorrow" status.

And as every recessionista worth her coppers knows there's something to be said for a statement bag that bestwows its carrier with a sense of eco-chic while keeping her cash where it belongs in these financially tumultuous times - a high interest savings account.

The bags often made of hemp or recycled materials aren't just a savvy buy but they're also soo roomy. I can fit my laptop, lunch and 80s bonkbuster of the month ( Lace by Shirley Conran if you're interested) into mine without any bulging.

Ok so maybe I was wrong when I declared VB's latest mag cover a disaster. Well maybe not totally wrong I still think it was a bit of a mess but she's redeemed herself within the pages of the Russian fashion tome. So loving the red dress and chunky bangles this is VB at her best - she's so working it!

Fashion Hits: Inaugural Celebratios

Forget the Golden Globes, Oscars, and Grammys - President Obama's inaugural celebrations are shaping up to be the hottest fashion ticket of 09.

Michelle Obama has embraced her new role as the first lady of style - dazzling us in that gorgeous Jason Wu gown that's sure to go down in the history books.



Hollywood A-listers keen to jump on the bandwagon of the momentous event showed off their fashion credentials at the various parties. Standout looks include Keri Washington in a metallic gown at the Creative Coalition Gala.



J-Lo rocked the party in a mint green Marchesa gown at the Western Inaugural Ball.



Beyonce serenaded the first couple while looking fabulous in an Armani Prive gown.



Demi Moore attended an MTV inauguration party in Donna Karan and of course finished off her outfit with the best accessory a girl could hope for a tux'd up Ashton Kutcher.



And Anne Hathaway wowed us in a red Dior floor sweeper and looks glowing and fresh now that she's out of that skeletor phase ... ribs and bones so not a good look. Although in the circumstances we'll let her off.

Another day another VB cover

Ok so here at Style Bazaar it's not like we're totally Victoria Beckham obsessed or anything but the woman is literally everywhere. Her latest coup is the cover of Russian Vogue and it's just downright scary. Ok so I get the whole "alternative" fashionista vibe she was going for but what's with the gestapo hat, thumb sucking and blacked out eyes. She looks like she's gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson and the whole "I spent most of my life trapped in a darkened closet" pallor isn't helping.

We love you VB but this time it' most definitey a thumbs down.

Michelle Obamas Inauguration Outfit

After all the waiting and speculation the outfit is finally out of hiding - Michelle Obama chosen a yellow embelished dress with matching coat by Cuban American designer Isabel toledo for her husband's inauguration.

Initial thoughts? Hmm there's something not striking enough about it. Michelle Obama is a beautiful woman with a stunning figure but I still say her best outfit to date is the turquoise Maria Pinto dress she wore to address to Democatic National Convention.

Posh and Becks vamp it up for Emporio Armani

After short break Style Bazaar is back - in the hiatus we've been working on an amazing surprise for you guys that will be unveiled shortly! It's very exciting!



But for now back to fashion goss and when it comes to unabashed limelight hogging no one does it better than David and Victoria. In the latest Emporio Armani ad they show off their amazing physiques and of course Posh's famous pout is out in force.
